Papa John's Pizza NightsPapa John's Pizza Night is back in 2010-11!
PTO is teaming up with Papa John’s for Price-Harris Pizza Nights. One weeknight each month, 20 percent of any order you place with Papa John’s goes back to the school.
Fliers will go home with students the day of the promotion. Fliers must be used on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of that week. When you pay for the order at any Papa John’s location or with the delivery driver, turn in the flier for school credit.
Students can be double winners. The class that turns in the most fliers wins a pizza party the following week.

Teacher/Staff AppreciationThe goal of the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Committee is to let the staff know how much the parents at Price-Harris value what they do for our children and to thank them for going the extra mile. Events this year are dinner during each of the conference weeks; a holiday food day; Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week toward the end of the school year; and "snack" days throughout the year. Anyone is welcome to help!

Spell-a-thonSpell-a-thon is Price-Harris' annual challenge to its students to master spelling words at their grade level while raising money to replentish the school library's book supply. The event kicks off Feb. 3 with a skit produced and performed by school staffers and PTO members. Volunteers then go over the details of Spell-a-thon in classrooms. Spell-a-thon word lists are made up by teachers in each grade. While raising pledges for their correctly spelled words, students have about two weeks to practice the spelling of the words before a Feb. 23 test. This year's goal is for Spell-a-thon to raise at least $2,000, all of which will go toward new books for the P-H library. Each class will receive a popcorn/movie party for their efforts, but the top fund-raisers in the upper grades and lower grades will also receive a trophy and will get an end-of-day treat. Skate PartiesPrice-Harris roller skating parties will be held at Carousel Skate Center on Nov. 10 and May 19.
For the first time, Price-Harris students can take part in a school ice skating party. This year's ice skating party is 12:15-3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Wichita Ice Center.

Field DayPrice-Harris Field Day, on Friday, April 29, gives students a chance to stretch their athletic muscles through a series of games and activities. Lower grades participate in the morning, upper grades in the afternoon. Parents are invited to come to school to watch their children. They’re also invited to volunteer, since it takes many volunteers to make Field Day a success.

Take a night off from dinner at home and bring the family to Chuck E. Cheese's on Thursday, Sept. 30, and Thursday, March 17, for Price-Harris Night. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of all sales from 3 p.m. to closing to PTO. That's ALL sales, so invite non-Price-Harris families to enjoy some pizza and games, too. Chuck E. Cheese's is located at 3223 N. Rock Road.
Chris Cakes Pancake DayThe Nov. 20 Chris Cakes Pancake Feed gets the weekend off to a great start. Price-Harris families and neighborhood families came to school on a Saturday to eat plenty of pancakes and sausage, as well as enter drawings for some cool gift baskets.
Save the date: 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 in the Price-Harris gym.
CarnivalBe ready to have fun on Friday, April 8 when Price-Harris holds its annual School Carnival. From 6-8 p.m., the whole family can enjoy games throughout the school, plus there’s dinner for everyone in the gymnasium. Admission is $5 per person.
To get Price-Harris families prepared for the Carnival, four "crazy" days are planned at school. Whether it's crazy hair or shoes, families are asked to send $1 each day to offset the cost of putting on the Carnival.
Here are the "crazy" dates for 2010-11: Sept. 24 -- Crazy Hat Day Nov. 19 -- Crazy Hair Day Jan. 28 -- Inside-Out Clothing Day March 11 -- Eagle School Spirit Day
